Holger Koenemann

Hey, I'm Holger

Web developer, designer, Product Manager, and the person behind LighthouseRobot.

Why I Built This

I've been building, designing, and optimizing websites for a long time – sometimes professionally, sometimes just for fun. Over the years, one of the first things I always check on any site are the four Lighthouse scores: Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO.

For my own projects, I've made it a personal goal to keep these scores as high as possible. There's something satisfying about seeing those green 90+ numbers.

But here's the thing: tracking performance across multiple websites over time has always been a pain. The tools that exist are either expensive, overly complex open-source projects that require self-hosting and maintenance, or free tools that limit you to a single URL.

The Idea

So I built LighthouseRobot for myself. I wanted a simple dashboard where I could add all my websites, see their Lighthouse scores at a glance, and track how they change over time – without paying a subscription or managing servers.

The leaderboard concept came naturally. When you have multiple sites, you start comparing them. Which one performs best? Which one needs attention? Turning it into a ranking made the whole thing more engaging – almost like a game.

Now I can check my scores anytime, anywhere – whether on my phone, at my desk, or while grabbing a coffee. Like right here for lighthouserobot.com:

A Note on Expectations

LighthouseRobot is a hobby project. I work on it in my spare time, alongside my actual job. There's no company behind it, no support team, no roadmap with deadlines.

You're welcome to use it – I'd love for it to be useful to others. But please understand that I treat it as a side project: I'll fix bugs when I can, add features when I'm inspired, and keep it running as long as it makes sense.

If it helps you track your websites, that's awesome. If you have feedback or ideas, I'd love to hear them. Just don't expect enterprise-level support. 😊
